This is Mrs. Lackey’s first year at St. Mary’s Cathedral School. Mrs. Lackey retired from public schools in June 2023 after a 33-year career. Mrs. Lackey began as a science teacher and middle school/high school coach for the first eight years of her career.
She moved into school administration and served as an assistant principal for the next eight years. For her final 17 years, Mrs. Lackey served as a campus principal, having the opportunity to open three new campuses.
Mrs. Lackey holds a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a Master of Education in Educational Administration degree from West Texas A&M University. Mrs. Lackey has committed her entire adult life to the education of children.
In her spare time, she enjoys playing golf and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Jimmy, have three adult daughters, Jayla Wilhelm and her husband, Seth; Kennedy Powell and her husband, Luke; and Hallie Lackey. The Lackeys have three grandsons, James, George, and Hank. They also enjoy their four-legged friends. A Goldendoodle (Maddie), a Yorkie (Oliver), and a Shih-Tzu (Zip).
