Step-By-Step Admissions Process for NEW Students
Step 1: Complete an Application. It is located here. New applications are submitted through an online portal link above. In the portal, parents/guardians will create student and family profiles, and upload the required documents. Remember to bookmark the Application Portal page as applicant families will periodically need to log in and check the Admissions Progess Status Link to see if any element is incomplete, has not been received, or requires additional action.
Step 2: Schedule assessments and/or shadow days. All students in Montessori through Grade 5 are assessed with some pencil and paper activities and oral presentations. In addition, we assess applicants' language, reading, and math skills using materials that are developmentally appropriate for their age and grade level. These are fun activities and exercises that help us to measure where your child is compared to our student population at the time of the school year. These assessments are administered by our teachers who are familiar with grade-level and content expectations. The test protocols for each student are reviewed by our instructional specialist and Principal, who are also involved in the assessment/shadow process.
St. Mary's Cathedral School always has the right to ask for a family interview as part of the application process.
Step 3: The Admissions Checklist will indicate if all documents have been received and completed. You can find your Admissions Checklist in the Admissions Portal. Use the same login that you used to complete the application.
Step 4: Upon acceptance and/or review of application, you will be sent an email to complete the student enrollment packet, where payment can be arranged and full enrollment guidelines are completed.
